I am an independent Shoreham by Sea based Inclusive Arts Practice (IAP) artist, facilitator and researcher who loves painting using acrylic inks and gold/silver leaf. I am interested in art which places an emphasis on collaboration, participation, communication, exchange, connection and how this leads to improved mental health and wellbeing. I do not teach, rather my aim is to 'explore' and 'journey' collaboratively. To learn and unlearn together.
My artwork explores the sea, light, space, time, perspective and the process of making art. I have a particular interest in the links between the arts and health, having worked for over thirteen years in the NHS in roles within Governance, Engagement, Equality, Delivery and Administration. I decided to train to facilitate inclusive arts projects with diverse and marginalised groups, especially those experiencing social exclusion due to economic or health reasons. My purpose is to help contribute to worldwide efforts to break down societal barriers and social stigmas around making art whilst unlocking the full creative potential of our hands.
